Hello!! I am wondering if I can help you all out with the issue with keeping chickens in city limits. We live on a farm with many farm animals and enjoy the country life. We were thinking of providing people of wpg hens for the summer, keeping a log as to were each hen is and in the winter taking them back to our farm in the heated barn and doing this again year after year. Now this would be a service so there would be a charge for the hen, cage, feeder, waterer, and so on. This is just a thought at this point and I am not sure if this service is even needed. I would like to have your feed back. Does this sound like something the people of wpg would be interested in? Does the city of wpg have a limit as to how many chickens you can have on your yard? Again this is just a thought, I am not saying I am ready to do this right away.

I am planning on making a presentation to the town council of Beausejour, sometime this summer, to have backyard chickens. I would also like to raise bees with the new hives being built and manufactured out of the UK,. But that is another project for Down the Road. I am wondering, though,if there is any information you can share with me regarding your presentation to the City of Winnipeg, that I may incorporate into my application. I, too, am a strong advocate of getting back to the land in your own environment and welcome any assistance you may feel like sharing.
